Karrie Hovis, MHS, MLS(ASCP)CM, CQIA, is a dynamic leader in the medical laboratory profession with over two decades of expertise spanning education, consulting, and technical applications. She earned her Master of Health Science from Louisiana State University Health School of Allied Health Professions - Shreveport, where she also earned her Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology, laying the foundation for a distinguished career.
Karrie is dedicated to providing practical and innovative solutions tailored to meet the unique needs each client. Her deep understanding of the medical laboratory environment allow her to deliver effective strategies that drive success and compliance. A prolific contributor to her field, Karrie has authored numerous publications on topics such as SARS-CoV-2 diagnostics, HIPAA, and transfusion medicine and has delivered presentations at prestigious venues including TEDxOchsner and various meeting within the medical laboratory profession. Her commitment to advancing laboratory science is matched by her dedication to education, having held numerous faculty appointment.
Karrie’s professional credentials are extensive. She is a Certified Quality Improvement Associate and holds multiple certifications and licenses from ASCP, NCA, the Tennessee State Medical Laboratory Board, and the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners. Her career has been recognized with awards such as the Abbott Laboratories' President’s Award, the ASCLS Board of Directors Award, and the Omicron Sigma Award for Outstanding Service, to name a few.
